HiRAC Startup Procedure

1. Log in on the PC called nicole using the name and password supplied by the staff.

2. Open a xterm window from the root menu.

3. Change directory to brocam2 (command: cd brocam2).

4. Start the CCD Control Program "BIAS" by typing startb2.

   NOTE: "BIAS" should be restarted before starting observations each night. This is needed for the accesscode and image filenames.

5. In the "BIAS" command window you are prompted for an accesscode. Go to the TCS terminal and type sh 84. On this status page the current accesscode is listed. Type that at the "BIAS" prompt.

6. You can start your observations.

1. In the "BIAS" command window type the command exit to exit.

1. The previous version of the "BIAS" program is available. It is started with the command startb2.pre.
