NOTCam Status Report, Apr 1997

• The optical design for NOTCam (postscript document) has been finalied and is available for inspection.
• The mechanical concept design is proceeding well and the Mechanical Concept Design Review is taking place in early May in Edinburgh. The final mechanical design documents should be available in June 97. Once this information is acquired various groups will be solicited for the construction/fabrication of NOTCam over the second half of 97.
• From the background (sky+telescope) data kindly provided by the ARNICA team at Arcetri Observatory, Firenza, Italy using ARNICA at NOT, we have estimated the point-source sensitivity of NOTCam in its direct imaging modes. A table of estimated S/N vs. time, vs. filter, and vs. pixel scale.
