Remote observing

As part of the Nordic-Baltic Research School being organized at Tuorla in June 2009 remote observations will be done with the NOT. In principle any of the core instruments ALFOSC, FIES, NOTCam, MOSCA and StanCam can be used, but this still needs to be defined in detail. Depending of what kind of observations are planned, we will review what is required to be able to do proper remote observations with the instruments, if any software needs to be developed and what we specifically will offer. For observations with NOTCam an important issue to take into account is the large amount of data produced by IR imaging, and it has to be defined exactly how the data transfer will be handled.
