Webcams and weather station

With the new cooling unit there is no longer a clear view through the windows in the service building to the telescope and the web cam has been moved to the outside corner of the building. For this, a weather resistant unit was bought. Also a second unit will be place at the weather station, looking down on the loading ramp. This will give a better view of the area in front of the telescope and the entrance to the telescope and the stairs down to the FIES building which will allow for a better assessment of the situation in case of bad weather.

For the webcam at the weather station a new network connection will be installed. It should also be considered if the connection from the instruments in the weather station should be changed to also use the network connection which will allow a more versatile use of the measurements, and for the instruments themselves it should be check if adequate spares exist and/or if new units should be purchased.
