The installation of the instrument in the building was completed and lightning protection was installed.
Temperature and humidity sensors were installed in the instrument room
and the front room. The first results over the past few months
indicate that when limiting the number of visits to the instrument
room, it should be possible to keep the temperature stabilized to well
within 1 degree. The humidity varies by up to +/-10%, but the avarage
has slowly decreased from 40% to
30%. At the end of the
summer we expect to have a proper view of the overall variations in
both temperature and humidity.
It will likely take until after regular work in the instrument room has finished before more detailed tests can be made to check the effect on the stability of the spectrograph.
