Amplifiers

The telescope altitude and azimuth amplifiers are very old and four have already been sent for repair with the cause of the faults typically been associated with the age of the units, approximately 20 years. A search for alternative amplifiers has been done and two options are available: buy some commercial units that are not direct replacements, either mechanically or electrically, or; get exact customized replacement built. An initial quote for the customized units was obtained but found to be much higher that the commercial alternatives, a more reasonable offer for the customized amplifiers has been solicited.
