Polarimetry

A quick-look linear polarimetry imaging reduction tool was developed which measures polarisation from four consecutive exposures where the user needs to mark the images of the target in the first image. The program will be further developed (specifically the error estimate) and the documentation will be expanded.

After some delay, astronomers from the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía and from the DARK institute in Copenhagen have now received all the funding and have started a project to purchase a Wedged double Wollaston (WeDoWo) to do linear polarimetry with ALFOSC. We expect to receive and test the WeDoWo before the end of the current period.
