Drive System

We have purchased the components for the new drive system of the telescope building. This includes four motors, amplifiers, servo control electronics and cabling. The system needs to be assembled and the electronics needs to be programmed. As part of the purchase, an engineer from Siemens will visit to provide technical advise. Currently, the precise details of the installation and the required modifications to our system are being discussed and a work plan and schedule is being made. Given the delay in the installation of the amplifiers for the telescope drives (see below) the change of the drive system is now foreseen for the autumn.
