- Maintenance of the network at ORM -----------------

Due to the increased monitoring of the network devices, and also a higher network load at certain times, we have observed some potential problems in the ORM network. We're looking for the cause of the problems, which at the moment point to a naïve configuration of a number of devices in the network.

In the worst case, we would need to substitute some of the networking hardware. In any case we are planning to upgrade some of those devices to be able to perform a more detailed monitoring and management of the network, and to provide a higher quality of service for some new systems at the dome (like the ongoing project for TCS-controlled side-port operation mechanism.)
