P73-016: Probing the Geometry of Fast Extragalactic Transients

P.I.:Tom Reynolds

This is a ToO and SoftToO program using ALFOSC

Requested setups:

  • Grism #4
  • Slit_1.0, Slit_1.3
  • Lin-Pol-imaging

Observing instructions:

When an observation is triggered, OBs will be made and submitted to the Queue:
  • In a sequencer window type cd ~/scripts/73-016/
  • Look for the most recent scripts with ls -lrt and execute them
  • Remember to update the OBs and send the SoftToO report

73-016 2026-04-11 00:42 SoftToO 2026ezk ALJd110081 - ALJd110084 Observed under clear skies and sub-arcsec seeing. Observed
73-016 2026-04-15 00:43 ToO 2026joh ALJd150122 - ALJd150131 Both Obs ran with clear skies and good seeing. Observed
73-016 2026-04-21 00:40 ToO 2026joh ALjd210145 through ALjd210150 Observations performed after moon had set. The science exposure extended 6 min into twilight. An error appeared when running the HeNe arc calibration exposure following the science exposure - the error said that a Ne lamp did not turn on. Looking at the HeNe arcs they look fine, though. However, we started getting errors about XPA communication w/ ALFOSC failing. Tried restarting obsys, but same error(s) appeared repeatedly and we were not able to execute the observations of the standard star for this ToO. Observed
73-016 2026-04-23 00:36 ToO 2026kia ALJd230072 - ALJd230081 Observed under clear skies and seeing around 1". Observed

The above information is collected from the ToO/Mon reports that have been created by the observer.

Should any of the observations have been carried out using the OB system, you will find additional information HERE
