With with most of the programming having finished the main work at the moment is testing the new TCS with the hardware. Some problems were encountered during the tests, where some work remains to be done. Furthermore, some hardware should be build for the adapter and mirror control.
The functioning of the autoguider in the new TCS was defined, where the main differences with respect to the old system is that no mouse is required for positioning the guide boxes, which can be done with commands and function keys. The detection and positioning of the boxes on the guide star and the background will be done fully automatically in connection with an improved guide star service.
The User Interface for the new TCS has been defined and development has started. It will look very much like the old one with a number of improvements like log file listing, command recall and editing. It will also be possible to run a user interface remotely.
