Preparations were made for the aluminization of the main mirror coming June. Arrangements were made for the transport of the mirror to the aluminization plant at the William Herschel telescope, and for a check-up of the specialized tools to be used.
It was noted that people also should consider things that can/should be done during this period. Specifically, work that can be done more easily when the mirror is not installed (e.g., installation of humidity and/or temperature sensors, modifications to make mirror washing easier, etc.).
There is still the issues of the alignment of the main mirror after the last aluminization. Data were obtained and analyzed, but the implied tilt of the focal plane seems much to big (and the same is true for the implied tilt of ALFOSC which was used to perform the test). Currently Anton Norup in Copenhagen is looking at the data.
